From PC Mag: Barnes & Noble has unexpectedly revealed it's launching a new e-reader next week in the form of the Nook GlowLight 4.
It's been a couple of years since B&N updated its e-reader range, with the 7.8-inch GlowLight Plus launching in 2019, and the 6-inch GlowLight 3 in 2018. This new e-reader sticks with a 6-inch 300dpi display, but improves the experience in a number of other areas. Notably, the inclusion of 32GB of storage (29.1GB available to use), a switch from micro USB to USB-C for the charging/data transfer port, and much smaller bezels than the GlowLight 3.
The casing has a soft touch finish and there's the option of swiping the screen or using physical buttons to turn pages. GlowLight illumination lets you to read regardless of the lighting conditions, and a Night Mode allows this Nook to "mimic the sun’s natural progression throughout the day."
The battery life is rated at one month, but that assumes you're reading for 30 minutes per day, turning one page per minute, the GlowLight is set at 10% bightness, and wireless is turned off. In reality, heavy readers are still likely to get a week or more of reading between charges.
