From PC Mag: Sony is offering PlayStation Plus members five days of free service following a day-long global PlayStation Network (PSN) outage.
“Network services have fully recovered from an operational issue. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank the community for their patience. All PlayStation Plus members will automatically receive an additional 5 days of service,” Sony tweeted.
Users started reporting issues with PSN at around 6 p.m. ET on Friday, Feb. 7. They could not sign in to their accounts, play online games, or access the online store.
It took Sony a little over 24 hours to fix the issue. At around 7 p.m. ET on Saturday, Feb. 8, the company posted that the network was up and running but didn’t provide an explanation for the outage. A few hours later, it announced the five-day bonus.
