Leaked pics of the HTC U12 Plus show off a translucent design ahead of May 23rd announcement

From The Verge: HTC has officially started teasing its next flagship, the U12 Plus, promising a full reveal of the device next week on May 23rd. Unfortunately for HTC, another leak (courtesy of Evan Blass) has revealed even more details of the upcoming phone, including our best look yet at the design and what appears to be a translucent variant that subtly shows off the internal hardware of the phone.

Blass also got his hands on the full spec sheet for the U12 Plus, confirming the leaked specs that found their way online back in March. To recap, that’s a 6-inch WQHD+ resolution LCD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 6GB of RAM, either 64GB or 256GB of storage, and a 3,500mAh battery. The U12 Plus also features dual cameras on both the front and back of the phone, with a 12-megapixel sensor and 16-megapixel sensor on the back of the phone and two 8-megapixel sensors on the front. There’s also IP68 water and dust resistance, Android Oreo (with a promised update to Android P), new touch-sensitive buttons, and always-on listening for both Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

It’s not entirely clear what else HTC has to announce at this point, but we’ll find out if there are any more surprises hidden up its sleeve on May 23rd.
