From DailyTech: Time Warner Cable has announced that it is offering its Road Runner high-speed internet customers in New York City access to Wi-Fi zones free of charge. The new zones are available for customers who are on the broadband service and offer unlimited usage in many areas of the city. Time Warner Cable has Wi-Fi areas in place around the Cablevision service area in Manhattan and Queens as well as in several parks and on Long Island railroad platforms. The Time Warner Cable Wi-Fi zones include eight commuter rail platforms on the Long Island Railroad Port Washington line including Woodside, Flushing Main Street, Murray Hill, Broadway, Auburndale, Bayside, Douglaston, and Little Neck. Zones in Manhattan include Bryant Park, Madison Square Park, and 79th Street Boat Basin and in Queens four parks are covered including Bowne Park and Kissena Park in Flushing, Baisley Pond Park, and Railroad Park in Jamaica. “Our sophisticated network is a combination of wireless and wireline services, bringing a wide spectrum of products and services to our customers.
