From DailyTech: Today, Lenovo is serving up a refresh of its popular ThinkPad X2xx series of ultra-portable notebooks and tablets. Lenovo even goes so far as to say that its new ThinkPad X220 notebook and ThinkPad X220 tablet are up to 75 percent faster than the competition and offer runtimes of up to 23 hours. First up is the sub-3-pound ThinkPad X220 notebook which now features a 45 percent larger buttonless trackpad. The X220 can be had with two different 12.5" displays -- the first is a standard 12.5" LED-backlit unit with a 1366x768 resolution while the upgraded IPS display features the same resolution and "extra bright wide-viewing angle[s]". No matter which display you choose, you will still be stuck with Intel's “Integrated HD Graphics” with no option to upgrade to a dedicated GPU. There are a slew of processor options available (second generation Intel Core) ranging from an Core i3-2310M (2.1GHz) to a Core i7-2620M (2.7GHz). The usual suspects are included when it comes to wireless technology -- 802.11n, WiMAX, and CDMA/GSM mobile broadband connections are supported. Lenovo says that the ThinkPad X220 can operate for up to 7.5 hours with a standard 9-cell battery and up to 23 hours with the ThinkPad external battery pack. Next up is the ThinkPad X220 Tablet. While slate tablets like the Apple iPad/iPad 2 and Motorola Xoom as grabbing headlines with their tablet-specific operating systems, Lenovo is soldering on using by offering the more traditional Windows 7 operating system with its ThinkPad X220 Tablet.
