IOS 5 Already Jailbroken

From DailyTech: It's only been a day since Apple announced iOS 5 and the updated OS has already been jailbroken.

IPhone Dev Team member MuscleNerd posted evidential screenshots on his Twitter account depicting SSHing utility app iSSH successfully installed from Cydia on his 4th-generation iPod touch.

According to Redmond Pie, the jailbreak is currently limited to tethered boot only, meaning the device has to be connected to a computer during every reboot. However, MuscleNerd and his crew are no doubt working on an untethered jailbreak (although it probably won’t be released until iOS 5 goes to Golden Master).

IOS 5 is currently available to developers only in beta 1 form and is set to launch to the general public later this fall. It includes 1,500 new APIs and 200-some new features, the following 10 of which were highlighted yesterday: a new Notification Center, News Stand, integrated Twitter support, updated Mobile Safari, Reminders, some new functions in the Camera app, greater functionality in Mail, OTA software updates and activation, iMessage, and updates to Game Center.

One other feature that wasn’t highlighted on stage yesterday was Wi-Fi Sync for iOS devices. Users will now be able to wirelessly sync with their Mac or PC (Hello, Microsoft Zune). Syncing (including apps, music, and backups) will take place when your iOS device is plugged into a wall charger.
