Samsung Introduces Children's Tablet Galaxy Tab 3 Kids

From DailyTech: Samsung and Google have already conquered the adult world when it comes to smartphone and tablet sales, so the pair will now attempt to provide child-friendly gadgets.

Samsung announced today that it is offering a tablet for children called "Galaxy Tab 3 Kids." It works just like a real tablet, and even offers a stripped version of Google's Android 4.1 operating system -- but is entirely made for children.

Galaxy Tab 3 Kids offers a 7-inch, 1024 x 600 display; a 1.2GHz dual-core processor; 1GB RAM; 3MP front-facing camera; 1.3MP rear-facing camera, and 8GB of internal storage (expandable via a microSD slot).

There will also be a Kids Case, which will have multiple stand options and a C Pen (which acts as a stylus for the tablet).

The tablet packs e-books, educational apps and games. Parents can use the Application Manager to load which apps they want their children to have.

There are other tools parents might enjoy as well, such as the Time Management feature. It allows parents to set specific times in which the child can use it, and when the designated use time is up, a password protected lock screen appears. From there, parents have to enter a password in order to unlock it.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids will make its way to Korea first in early September, and will later be available across China, Europe, U.S., Africa, South America and South East Asia. There's no word on a price yet.
