First Images of Nokia Lumia 1520 Bandit Phablet Get Published

From X-bit Labs: Even though Nokia Corp. still has not introduced a Lumia smartphone with QWERTY keyboard aimed at business users, the company wants to make Lumia with touchscreens available with all screen sizes. Last month it transpired that Nokia was working on a hybrid smartphone-tablet device and by now the product has been virtually confirmed by various leaks.

The phablet from Nokia is code-named Bandit, but it will be sold as Lumia 1520. The product will come with 6” display with 1920*1080 resolution and will have similar design as current-generation Lumia smartphones do, based on pictures published by @Evleaks. According to VR-Zone web-site, Lumia 1520 will be based on quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 application processor, which is the highest-performing mobile system-on-chip available today.

Given the fact that the Lumia 1520 smartphone is based on a quad-core SoC and has a high-resolution display, both of which will be supported only by the upcoming Windows Phone 8 version GDR3, it is safe to say that the product is still a month or more away.

Given the nature of Microsoft Windows Phone 8 user interface, higher resolution and larger display size will allow owners of Lumia 1520 to have more tiles on their homescreen, which should greatly improve usability of the device thanks to easier access to frequently used apps.
