From PC Mag: The Biden administration is giving the PC industry about three weeks to prepare before it re-imposes tariffs on graphics cards, motherboards, and desktop cases imported from China.
The White House will reactivate Trump-era tariffs on June 15, according to a notice from the US Trade Representative (USTR). The 25% duty will remain in effect until May 31, 2025, but the US could choose to renew and extend the tariffs.
The move threatens to raise prices for PC builders since China has long been the main manufacturer of graphics cards, motherboards, and many other components. The tariffs also target other Chinese imports including robot vacuums, air purifiers, various kinds of electric motors, and trackpad units valued at over $100.
