From PC Mag: Only three weeks after Android 16's first beta-test release, Google is shipping the second beta.
The release notes, posted Thursday, document few noticeable changes—unless you're an avid photographer looking for more control over your shots. Added features there include hybrid auto-exposure modes to set light sensitivity or exposure time while having the auto-exposure system compensate accordingly (a widespread feature in digital cameras); more precise color temperature, tint and shading controls; a framework to let other apps request a motion photo from the camera; and expanded high-dynamic range support that adds the Ultra HDR format.
This Android 16 release also debuts more granular controls for health data in the form of specific app-permission frameworks controlling apps’ access to such metrics as skin temperature and heart rate and whether they can collect this data in the background.
Google has been building out health features in recent Android releases, so expect more along these lines as Android 16 moves forward.
