Samsung's New Galaxy A17 5G, Tab A11+ Offer AI Features on a Budget

From PC Mag: Samsung is closing out the year with a flurry of product news. After announcing new speakers and Google Photos support for its TVs, the company has now introduced the budget-friendly Galaxy A17 5G and the Galaxy Tab A11+, which launch next month in the US.

The Galaxy A17 5G succeeds the Galaxy A16 5G, which was the best-selling Android smartphone last quarter. The two phones have many similarities, but the A17 has some AI perks, including support for Google's Circle to Search and Gemini chatbot.

The Galaxy A17 has a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It comes with Samsung's Exynos 1330 processor, 4GB RAM, and 128GB internal storage, which can be expanded up to 2TB with a microSD card. There's a 5,000mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging and can charge up to 50% in 30 minutes, Samsung says.

The camera setup hasn't changed from the A16. The front-facing camera uses a 13MP sensor, while the rear system has 50MP, 5MP, and 2MP sensors.

The Galaxy Tab A11+, meanwhile, comes with an 11-inch LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate. It runs a MediaTek MT8775 processor and comes in two variants: 6GB RAM with 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM with 256GB storage. Storage here can also be expanded to 2TB with a microSD card.
