From PC Mag: The latest Xperia phone is part of Sony's more affordable 10 series, although the price is now much higher than last year's Xperia 10 VII, presumably due to a RAM-crisis-focused price hike.
Sony-built Android phones are no longer sold in the US, so the new Xperia 10 VIII is highly unlikely to be made available. It was first announced in Japan, with Sony confirming European and UK availability at €599 and £549, respectively. That's up from €449 or £399 for the Xperia 10 VII, launched last September.
The phone itself doesn't differ much from the last-gen handset. The design is similar, although Sony has introduced a new "translucent" rear look using what Sony calls a "transparent material with a matte clear coating.” Your color choices are Frozen White, Frosted Grey, or Misty Lilac.
Other similarities include the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, 5,000mAh battery, and rear cameras with a 50MP f/1.9 main camera and a 12MP f/2.4 ultra-wide. Additional features include a 3.5mm headphone jack and microSD support up to 2TB. That's on top of 128GB of internal storage.
Sony opted to keep the same 8GB of RAM as its last-gen device, but this version offers an option to enable 6GB of virtual RAM.
