From EETimes: Sales of semiconductors in Europe in July grew by 0.7 percent to reach $3.39 bn according to the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS) organization, up 3.3 percent on the corresponding period last year. On a year to date basis, sales increased by 1.6 percent against the same period last year. On a worldwide basis, semiconductor sales in July 2008 were $22.18 billion, up 2.8 percent on the previous month. This represents an increase of 7.6 percent compared with the sales recorded in July 2007, and an increase of 0. 5 percent on a year-to-date basis. The dollar to Euro exchange rate has again had a "significant" impact on the European figures, according to the European Semiconductor Industry Association (ESIA). Measured in Euros, semiconductor sales in July 2008 were Euros 2.17 billion, up 0.7 percent on the previous month and down 10.5 percent versus the same month a year ago. View: Article @ Source Site |
