GAMDIAS HELIOS P2-750G 750W Report

Certifications are always interesting because these sorts of things often only matter if others appreciate or acknowledge what they mean. I have seen many companies list something about adhering to ISO 9001, but it does not really mean much to me. Furthermore, I could tell someone I have a certification from Scrum Alliance as a Certified Scrum Master. However, unless they understand what Scrum is or if Scrum is actually practiced, this title is meaningless. At my work place, I know we have to adhere to ISO 26262 in our work, which relates to functional safety for road vehicles. In addition, we must achieve a certain level for ASPICE, or Automotive Software Process Improvement and Capability Determination, in order to compete for our contract. Anyone outside our work would likely not care about these certifications unless they are involved in the related industries. Similarly, today we have the GAMDIAS HELIOS P2-750G 750W, which is marked with an 80 Plus Gold rating. The 80 Plus standard has been around for quite a while now, with the more recent standard coming from Cybenetics. Both of them are used to measure efficiency of the power supply at certain load levels. This is an important aspect of a PSU in general, we can also inspect the unit for other important things, such as the connectors, cable lengths, internal components, and more. What does the HELIOS P2-750G 750W have in store? Read on to find out!

Today's review unit of the GAMDIAS HELIOS P2-750G 750W arrived from their offices in Brea, California. Based on their shipping address, I also learned this is the American location of parent company KWorld Computer, although not much more is known about the company. Otherwise, this box was interestingly marked as a container for non-medical disposable face masks. It is likely they are just reusing this cardboard box, which is quite smart. The box is in excellent condition with no notable bruises or dents to be concerned about. Inside, GAMDIAS has packaged the power supply along with some packing bubbles to keep everything safe during transit.

Taking the box out, the retail container of the GAMDIAS HELIOS P2-750G 750W is wrapped in a thin cellophane wrap. The box is quite colorful with a glossy finish. The black and yellow theme is similar to what we have seen from other GAMDIAS products. The front shows off many words with lots of descriptions underneath the primary four feature points down the left side. On the right, we have the company name and logo and a scaled down image of the power supply inside. At the bottom, we have the product name as well as some more features. Finally, on the bottom right corner, we have more logos to display the 80 Plus Gold and Cybenetics Gold logos. As well, it is made to be ATX 3.0 compliant and PCIe Gen 5.0 ready. We will explore all of these facts later on in our review.

Before I continue, I have grabbed the specifications for the power supply from the manufacturer's website for your viewing pleasure:

Out of the box, we have the GAMDIAS HELIOS P2-750G 750W wrapped in a bubble wrap and sealed with some clear plastic tape. The attached cables are bundled together with a twist tie. A small clear pouch holds screws for mounting the power supply. Finally, we have a standard power cable to plug the unit into the wall socket. There is no physical reading material included. Otherwise, I cannot seem to find information about the warranty length of the GAMDIAS HELIOS P2-750G 750W, whether on GAMDIAS' website or on the box, so do keep this in mind.
