ASUS ROG Cetra II Core Moonlight White Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

Similar to Michael Scott, the ASUS ROG Cetra II Core Moonlight White may be different, but it is very functional. I like seeing how ASUS has branched out from what is considered normal to something more targeted for lightweight gaming audio. The ROG Cetra II Core Moonlight White maintains a clean appearance by utilizing my favorite gray and white color scheme. The plastic build is quite good, having no issues regarding its durability. You can personalize the fit of these earbuds quite easily with the included tips and fins. If you are not a fan of silicone tips, ASUS also provides foam tips, which is something I do not typically see. Through swapping out tips to my own preference, I found the ROG Cetra II Core Moonlight White to be quite comfortable. The sound profile is generally appropriate for gaming for the titles I have tried. The sound of footsteps was quite clear thanks to the very boosted bass, my teammates were easy to hear thanks to the also boosted midrange, while glass breaking was audible, although there was a bit of a roll-off. On the input side, the microphone was slightly muffled. It should suffice for day-to-day use, but unfortunately picks up too much background noise. Some things that could improve about the ROG Cetra II Core Moonlight White would be the cord. I would have appreciated some sort of braided cable to increase the durability and provide a smoother texture. Going back to the sound profile, it is more suited for people who like bass, as it has quite the bottom end boost that overshadows the midrange and treble. Soundstaging has room for improvement though, as I was often unable to pinpoint my enemy location. At a price of $60 USD, these are a bit pricier compared to the competition, as we have seen other gaming-focused earbuds at lower prices. I still think you get what you are paying for with a couple bonus add-ons. If you are not a fan of regular gaming headsets or prefer something lightweight for mobile gaming and are seeking an earbud alternative, the ASUS ROG Cetra II Core Moonlight White is something worth considering.
