ASUS ROG Fusion II 500 Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

After putting it through our paces, the ASUS ROG Fusion II 500 proved its capability to deliver good performance for both music and gaming alike. It provided an enjoyable sound quality with its fun-sounding tuning, while also retaining finer details and a clean output sound. In its build quality and wearability, the ASUS ROG Fusion II 500 is a reasonably weighted and comfortable headset, cushioned with sufficient amounts of plush areas at all of the anchor points and rotating ears for an easier resting position. I appreciate ASUS providing multiple ear cups to suit the user's desires. Its compatibility with multiple devices from consoles to computers and mobile devices is also great to see. Finally, I think the headphones look really good, regardless of whether the RGB lights are powered on or not. However, I do still have a list of items for improvement. In build quality, the ROG Fusion II 500 is made up of plastic that can creak under pressure. The physical inputs could be more resistant to accidental movement. The USB Type-C cable is a tad short for desktop computer usage. The left earcup gets noticeably warmer than the right during use. Soundstaging could have still been improved, even with the decent virtual surround implementation. Finally, I think the microphone performance was a bit lacking with a hollowness to its captured sound. At a retail price of $180 USD, the ASUS ROG Fusion II 500 commands a premium price. But with the premium price comes a set of premium headphones that performs in accordance with the money in categories like comfort and sound quality for the gaming enthusiast.
