ASUS TUF Gaming M4 Air Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

It is always a challenge trying something new and wondering what the experience will be like. ASUS has made lightweight mice before, but the TUF Gaming M4 Air takes it to the next level. The 47g weight is the shining feature of what the mouse offers, even lighter than the Cooler Master MM710. If you are looking for a no-nonsense ultralight mouse, this is a great option to consider. The lack of RGB LED lighting is a bit of a welcomed addition and keeps the price down. The build quality, even with many holes in the shell, feels solid, while the mouse still feels great to use. It is not a fingerprint magnet, keeping it clean. The IPX6 rating provides some peace of mind if a spill happens. The M4 Air also performed well. The tracking was accurate, and the PTFE feet ensured a smooth experience. As well, the paracord lightweight cable provided a near wireless-like experience. The cable does kink easily though, and the braiding can easily shift around and start to look twisted. As such, you should be careful with how you transport or store the M4 Air. One potential drawback of a mouse with a bunch of holes in it is the accumulation of grime with all the holes, but the antibacterial guard should be helpful in preventing it from getting too bad. It will still require cleaning, but it provides some help in keeping bacteria from growing on it. It is important to note this is a common design among ultralight mice. The software is the biggest downfall of the mouse in my opinion. It was difficult to find and, although easy to use, felt a bit heavy and clunky. The MSRP for the ASUS TUF Gaming M4 Air is $50. This is a solid price for the features offered with the ASUS TUF Gaming M4 Air. It will not break the bank and provide a great experience. Overall, if an ultralight mouse is what you want, then the M4 Air is a solid pick.
