I have elevated expectations when we get anything from be quiet! and, thankfully, Silent Loop 3 420mm did not disappoint. On the one hand, you could say this is because all the standard features are present and accounted for. This includes a large aluminum radiator, braided rubber tubing, and a quiet water pump combination block. The Silent Loop 3 follows a conservative design with a nearly all-black finish. The only exception is its RGB LED lighting illuminating the pump block, which can also be turned off for a clean and unique appearance. Three Silent Wings 4 PWM 140mm fans provide a good amount of airflow while also producing a low amount of noise. Compatibility with larger processors like AMD Threadripper is also beneficial. In terms of performance, the Silent Loop 3 420mm also delivers excellent cooling capabilities without being too loud. Even under full load, the fans and pump emit only a low hum. I also appreciate be quiet! continually being the only closed-loop cooler manufacturer to provide additional coolant to top up the cooler later on. However, there are one or two things that can be drawbacks. For one, while its installation process is straightforward, I think most people would want longer tubing so there are no restrictions on radiator placement. I also would still want to see a bit of protection underneath the radiator mounting holes for longer screws. Finally, any prospective users should be aware of the space required for a radiator this large, although it comes in other sizes too. At the time of the review, the 420mm variant is $175, which is a competitive price point. Overall, the be quiet! Silent Loop 3 420mm exceeds my expectations, offering capable cooling without making a racket.
