Last week, I spent my time organizing a scavenger hunt and race for the youth group at my church. I did not realize how long it would take to do this. I tried to model it like the reality TV show, The Amazing Race, as a competition with multiple stops before the pitstop. I did not realize how all the details I had to figure out. In addition, multiple questions arose leading up to the race. One deviation from the show I made was putting in a photo scavenger portion in there to provide an extension in finish time. However, I was not sure what each photo should be worth. I knew teams would argue it was not worth trying for photos if they just instead went through the race as fast as possible. On the other hand, if I made it worth too much, the teams might focus solely on the photo hunt and not progress through the stations. The other related concern was knowing how long the race would take. I wanted to make sure teams did not finish too early or too late. In the middle of the week, my friend and I went to the race location to confirm where everything would be and give us an estimate for time, but there were assumptions made with this estimate. Even with these concerns in my head, Friday night came, and the race went off without a hitch. There were some small hiccups, but it was fun to see the result. There were areas to improve on next time, but everything came together. In a comparable way, products may come to us with flash and many questions, but what really matters is the result. Hopefully, these questions will be answered while reviewing the product, but that is just part of our job. Today, we have the Cooler Master MasterLiquid 240L Core ARGB White, a CPU cooler in the MasterLiquid Lite lineup. How does this cooler perform and what questions are we left with in the end? Let us proceed to find out!
Today's review unit of the Cooler Master MasterLiquid 240L Core ARGB arrived from Cooler Master's RMA department in Claremont, California. Traveling with FedEx and their International Ground service, this box arrived in good condition with no real concerns here. This box arrived at our APH Networks offices here in Calgary, Alberta. Otherwise, there is not much else to talk about this brown corrugated cardboard box, so let us continue.
Out of the cardboard box, we had the cooler alone packaged in packing paper for protection. The retail container of the Cooler Master MasterLiquid 240L Core ARGB White came to us in a busy looking retail container. Its busyness comes from the many colors and background. This is like other recent Cooler Master products like the MasterBox NR200P MAX and Hyper 622 Halo White. As such, we have a purple background with a bunch of different graphics that vary between Cooler Master's name and logo, as well as many stripes and shapes. We can see a gradient pattern from neon blue to purple to pink. In the middle, we have the cooler itself shown off in full illuminated rainbow glory. The white version is what we have today, indicated by the photo and the name below, but a black variant is also available. Finally, Cooler Master's logo can be found at the bottom right corner. Otherwise, we do not have any features or specifications listed at the front. Instead, this information can be found on the side and the back of the retail box.
