I think sometimes it is pretty tricky to keep a secret, especially when I am excited about it. I know when I have good news, I do not necessarily share it with everyone, but I do tell those close to me. I know some people are better at controlling how their news gets out, especially if the information is more sensitive, but I like having some sort of outlet. In some ways, I think it is why a lot of people journal, because this way they have something to release their thoughts without telling others. On the other hand, as I have worked for several defense contractors, there is a common slogan that says, "loose lips sink ships". If you are not controlled about what comes out of your mouth, it could end in disastrous results. As such, for a long time, I would never talk about my job outside of the workplace. On the other hand, when companies send us products, sometimes these are sent under a non-disclosure agreement, or NDA. This ensures we do not publish anything about the product until an agreed-upon date. It also keeps all the reviewers equal in terms of releasing the information to the public in the same time frame, as no one gets a head start. Today, we have an exciting and just-released product in the form of the Cooler Master MK770. Cooler Master actually showed off this product at last year's CES, and we actually received it in September 2023. I have been super excited in wanting to share with you readers about this keyboard for almost half a year, but I had to keep my mouth shut until now. As such, what sort of keyboard do we have today, and what is the cause for excitement? Read this day one review to find out!
Today's review unit of the Cooler Master MK770 arrived from Cooler Master's offices in Claremont, California, USA. Traveling with FedEx and their International Ground service, this box arrived to our APH Networks location in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It was in good condition with only a slight dent in one of the corners. Inside, Cooler Master packaged this box well and included sufficient packing materials to keep the contents of this corrugated cardboard box safe.
Out of the box, the Cooler Master MK770 takes a bit of a veiled approach to their keyboard. On one hand, it is clear this is a Cooler Master product. Whether this is the logo in the bottom right corner or the background filled with Cooler Master branding and colors, there is no mistaking who the manufacturer is. The left side shows the product name with a description underneath, "95% Hybrid Wireless Keyboard Gasket Structure and Hot-Swappable Design". Otherwise, an outline of the product can be seen on the front. Part of this comes from the fact Cooler Master has two color schemes for the MK770, so they likely wanted to use the same box for both designs. Today, we have the Macaron edition, which comes in a colorful three-color view, but they also have a Space Gray edition for a more conservative color scheme. Otherwise, there are some features and specifications on the back of the box.

Out of the box, the Cooler Master MK770 comes with a pretty standard set of items. Out of the box, the keyboard can be found with a hard plastic shell to protect it while in transit. Next, we have a white braided USB Type-C to Type-A cable measuring 1.8m in length. In one small bag, we have a USB Type-C to Type-A converter, which works in conjunction with the included cable to make the USB wireless transmitter position more flexible. Finally, we have a combination keycap and switch puller. We will see how this will come in handy later on in our review. Otherwise, we have some paper materials concerning the quick start and warranty information. As expected from most Cooler Master peripherals, we have a standard two-year limited warranty coverage.
