Cooler Master Nepton 280L Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

Although some may question whether Cooler Master copied its radiator design from manufacturers, why does it matter? The only thing I know is, and with all confidence, I can say the Nepton 280L's performance is pretty darn good. Tested with one of Intel's latest Core i7 iteration of processors that does not exactly run cool, the Cooler Master Nepton 280L does a fine job at keeping it running without breaking a sweat, while working hard to get work done at the same time. On top of its performance characteristics of a water cooler, it features simple, maintenance free virtues of a traditional air cooler and clean, slick, and beastly looks. When placed in a case with a window, the Cooler Master Nepton 280L will sure impress, especially when LED lights are featured. Its relatively low noise is definitely a plus, especially for those noise enthusiasts. Its metal backplate and screw clips make the installation process straightforward. However, one complaint that I had was that it was somewhat difficult to install, because one must hold the backplate in place while installing the pump and screws on the other side. This is especially true if you have the radiator installed first as there is some stiffness from the tubes. Other than this minor complaint, I have nothing else to complain about, but to compliment it for its great features and performance. If you're considering an upgrade or simply a new system build, the Cooler Master Nepton 280L is definitely an item you want to add to your shopping list. Just be sure that the chassis supports its 280mm radiator, but hey -- this is in its name. For about $140 at press time, it certainly does not come cheap, but there is always a price for performance.
