Corsair iCUE Link RX120, RX120 RGB, RX140 RGB Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

With three models and eighteen copies in total of the Corsair iCUE Link RX series for our review today, how did us, the three editors, here at APH Networks find these fans? In short, we liked that the RX120, RX120 RGB, and RX140 RGB all had a great balance between airflow, static pressure, and noise. There is zero RPM support, so you can stop the fans completely if there is no cooling demand, making them completely silent under low loads. The fan kits include a hub, which is convenient, although it is important to note it is required to control the fans and its ARGB lighting capabilities. The proprietary connector feels secure compared to magnetic connectors we have seen from other manufacturers, and allows the fans to be controlled via a single cable. Furthermore, the fans can be daisy-chained together, and extension cables are included. The QuikTurn screws allow for quick installation. On the individual models, the glass fiber-reinforced liquid crystal polymer that makes up the iCUE Link RX120's impeller feels strong. Meanwhile, the translucent plastic in conjunction with eight LEDs on each of the RX120 RGB and RX140 RGB fans provide a great visual experience. Overall, there is not a whole lot to criticize about the Corsair iCUE Link RX120, RX120 RGB and RX140 RGB fans. iCUE is straightforward and user-friendly, but it is more on the resource intensive side. The proprietary connectors will mean you are required to use the fan hub, included with the packs, and this is the price to pay when you want to control ARGB lighting and the fan motor using a single cable with daisy chaining capabilities. For about $90 at press time for the RX120 3-pack, $100 for the RX120 RGB 3-pack, and $80 for the RX140 RGB 2-pack, the latest fans from Corsair are not light on the wallet, but the price is within the ballpark of models like the SWAFAN EX12 RGB and EX14 ARGB Sync from Thermaltake, Light Wings PWM High Speed from be quiet!, and the Shark Force series from SilverStone.
