With the Corsair VOID Wireless v2, I have one more item in my arsenal to tackle this year's summer gaming season. The memory foam wrapped in a microfiber fabric gives the headset great breathability. The weight is quite low at 303g, adding to the comfort. I can easily maintain communication in calls while away from my PC, since it is also wireless. If I want to mute the mic, I can easily do so by pushing the mic all the way up. The wireless range is excellent, allowing me to go anywhere in my house without experiencing connection issues. I could also connect a device through Bluetooth in addition to the RF connection, and switching between them is easy, only requiring a press of the power button. The headset supports many devices, including PC, Mac, Mobile, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch. I was able to keep them wireless for about 70 hours before I had to wire it up to be charged, which is great and pretty much bang on compared to the specifications. The headset works well with the iCUE software for customization, and the Dolby Atmos Spatial Audio support helps with some of its weaknesses. In terms of tuning, high-pitched sounds like pings in the treble area are crisp and clear. However, the soundstage on the VOID Wireless v2 is shallow, while imaging is inaccurate due to the weak midrange and overemphasized treble. The bass region is punchy, clean, and solid, but some details can be lost in-game. Details in the midrange are lost in both music and game audio as well. Layering could be improved, since instruments can be missed when a frequency range gets clustered. Lastly, the mic quality could be improved to produce a more natural-sounding voice. At press time, the VOID Wireless v2 retails for $120. Overall, the Corsair VOID Wireless v2 is a pair of wireless headphones that have great functionality, but tweaks to the audio can make it even better.
