Crucial Ballistix DDR4-3600 2x32GB Review (Page 10 of 10)

Page 10 - Overclocking and Conclusion

After scrolling through our photos to see what having 128GB of RAM looks like, are they any good from an overclocking perspective? To make it fair to everyone, we only used two sticks, since that is reflective of what comes in one standard kit. While it is already specified at a speedy DDR4-3600 out of the box, I managed to increase the speed 7.4% for a final rate of DDR4-3866, Prime95 stable, with the timings loosened slightly, shown in our screenshot above. This additional overclocking headroom is nice for those who want to tweak their PC to the max. For the rest of the population, DDR4-3600 is quite optimal for AMD Ryzen CPUs if you do not plan to overclock, but buying two kits for four banks of Crucial Ballistix DDR4-3600 for 128GB of RAM will sure blow anything out of the water in both memory bandwidth and capacity. Really, there is a lot to like about the Crucial Ballistix DDR4-3600 2x32GB kit. You can also be assured this is a quality product manufactured by an American company, who designed every part themselves from the beginning to the end, using Micron's own C9BLG integrated circuit chips under the attractive but low profile heatspreaders. None of that RGB stuff -- just plain old quality and performance. In addition to its capacity and speed, you are backed by a limited lifetime warranty. For about $300 at press time, this is quite a bit of RAM for a generally reasonable price. And if you ever do find yourself in a party where you need to flex the amount of RAM you have, buy two kits and you have all the glory you have ever wanted.

Crucial provided this product to APH Networks for the purpose of evaluation.

Since April 30, 2007, Number Ratings have been dropped for all CPUs, motherboards, RAM, SSD/HDDs, and graphics cards. This is to ensure the most appropriate ratings are reflected without the inherent limits of using numbers. Everything else will continue using the Number Rating System.
