Page 10 - Overclocking and Conclusion
Kicking off our CUDIMM review series is the Crucial CT2K16G64C52CU5 DDR5-6400 2x16GB. How did it perform, and how did it compare? The good news is the RAM is exactly what you expect it to be. The Corsair Vengeance, Kingston Fury Renegade, and XPG Lancer CUDIMM RGB models featured in the comparison charts are all DDR5-8400, and the 2GHz difference in clock speed meant the CT2K16G64C52CU5 posted lower numbers in tests where memory bandwidth mattered. That aside, for most real world tests, this DDR5-6400 kit paired with the latest Intel Core Ultra 7 265K delivered competitive performance. For overclocking, the CT2K16G64C52CU5 does not seem to like anything beyond 1.35V. However, keeping it at 1.30V allowed me to boot at a whopping DDR5-7400 with some timing relaxation, even though it was not Prime95 stable. For Prime95 stable, I was able to get it to DDR5-6800 at 56-55-55-109, as shown in the screenshot above. This represented a 6.25% overclock, which is pretty good. As always from Crucial, the CT2K16G64C52CU5 features Micron ICs, which are always dependable. It comes with a lifetime warranty should anything go wrong, just like other Crucial memory products. For about $170 at press time, the Crucial CT2K16G64C52CU5 DDR5-6400 2x16GB is a no-frills set of CUDIMMs to get you going on the latest platforms.

Since April 30, 2007, Number Ratings have been dropped for all CPUs, motherboards, RAM, SSD/HDDs, and graphics cards. This is to ensure the most appropriate ratings are reflected without the inherent limits of using numbers. Everything else will continue using the Number Rating System.
