About ATTO Disk Benchmark

The ATTO Disk Benchmark performance measurement tool is compatible with Microsoft Windows. Measure your storage systems performance with various transfer sizes and test lengths for reads and writes. Several options are available to customize your performance measurement including queue depth, overlapped I/O and even a comparison mode with the option to run continuously. Use ATTO Disk Benchmark to test any manufacturers RAID controllers, storage controllers, host adapters, hard drives and SSD drives and notice that ATTO products will consistently provide the highest level of performance to your storage.

Following up next is our usual ATTO read and write tests. ATTO is an often-quoted benchmark, because it is easy to use and accurate. For the most part, it is a favorite among reviewers. ATTO uses easily compressible data, so compression-heavy controllers will perform very well here. As manufacturer peak read and write performance ratings are usually achieved using ATTO, whether a drive lives up to its marketing claims or not can be validated by this program. Crucial claims maximum read and write numbers of 2000MB/s and 1700MB/s, respectively. According to our tests, these numbers were pretty close to what we saw, as our numbers peaked at 2008.245MB/s read and 1669.374MB/s write. In terms of ramp-up, the Crucial P1 1TB was also pretty fast at reaching peak speeds for write and even more so for the read test. At smaller packet sizes, the P1 1TB compared favorably with most of the drives. Compared with the recent WD Black NVMe SSD, the P1 obviously peaks at a lower overall number, but ramp-up is pretty similar for write and better for read.
