How many Gen Z and Gen Alpha terms do you know? I do not imagine too many people born between 2010 and the time of writing this review are reading this website, and neither are they old enough to be in university or working an adult job just yet. I am always fascinated by the evolution of language, so I took it upon myself to see if I can drop a few of these terms in a professional setting in the most natural way possible. In one meeting at work, we were going through some financial calculations, to which I commented one of the lines seemed a bit "sus". A coworker caught that immediately, laughed, and said, "Did you just say, 'sus'?" To which my supervisor responded, "My kids use that all the time, no cap." While lecturing a 4th year engineering class at the university, I was discussing how some people show up at business networking events in the most socially awkward way possible, which I explained is the professional equivalent of "skibidi Ohio rizz". I could almost hear the uneasy laugh at this brainrot in the background, but I would argue in all of the above, they fit the context quite well, it is the audience of which they were used that was a bit out of place. I think one could reasonably argue in any use of language, content, fit, and audience are all important aspects of good communication. When buying an SSD, these three aspects also matter. We want something with good hardware in the correct form factor properly positioned for a specific market. Today, we have the Crucial P310 2230 2TB in our labs, which is a M.2 2230 format mainstream SSD for size-constrained ultrathin laptops and portable gaming devices. But how will it stack up against the competition? Read on to find out!
Our review unit of the Crucial P310 2230 2TB arrived in a medium-sized brown corrugated cardboard box from Brownsville, Texas, which is nowhere near any Micron offices. However, this is where Avant Technology is located, which Micron partners with. Using the FedEx International Priority service, everything arrived in excellent condition to us here in Calgary, Alberta, Canada for our review today.
Crucial's retail package designs have always been about business, and the P310 2230 2TB is no different. The simple, environmentally friendly box features the latest design thematically consistent with the Crucial T500 2TB I reviewed last year, and of course, the Crucial P310 2280 1TB. This relatively compact hanging box delivers the SSD into the hands of consumers with miscellaneous information printed on the back. As you can see in our photo above, the box art evokes a strong business feel. A photo of the Crucial P310 2230 NVMe SSD is shown in front of a white background. At the top, you will find Crucial's logo. Across the center inside a blue band, you will find the P310 model name. Its product description, PCIe Gen4 NVMe 2230 M.2 SSD, and a sticker indicating its speed and capacity are located in various areas.
Before we move on, let us take a look at the specifications of the Crucial P310 2230 2TB, as obtained from the manufacturer's website:
