About ATTO Disk Benchmark

The ATTO Disk Benchmark performance measurement tool is compatible with Microsoft Windows. Measure your storage systems performance with various transfer sizes and test lengths for reads and writes. Several options are available to customize your performance measurement including queue depth, overlapped I/O and even a comparison mode with the option to run continuously. Use ATTO Disk Benchmark to test any manufacturers RAID controllers, storage controllers, host adapters, hard drives and SSD drives and notice that ATTO products will consistently provide the highest level of performance to your storage.

Following up next are our usual ATTO read and write tests. ATTO is an often-quoted benchmark because it is easy to use and accurate. For the most part, it is a favorite among reviewers and I have grown to embrace it as much as the next for the last little while. ATTO uses easily compressible data, so compression-heavy controllers will perform very well here. As far as the Crucial controller on the P5 Plus is concerned, well, here are our results. It peaked at 6390MB/s read and 4680MB/s write. Under the curve, it was interesting because the P5 Plus was faster than the SN850 and S70 Blade at up to 16K and 64K, respectively, for write. In the read test, the P5 Plus was faster than the SN850 up to 16K and was about the same as the S70 Blade up to 16K. Above the mentioned transfer sizes, both the SN850 and S70 Blade significantly outperformed the P5 Plus, which was expected given the Crucial is a budget drive. Overall, the Crucial P5 Plus 1TB's performance was very good for the price bracket it is in, thanks to the higher peak speeds afforded by the PCIe 4.0 interface.
