Have you ever visited a place where you know people, but you do not really know them well? I was recently feeling this way at my friend's church. As I walked through the doors, I actually recognized a handful of people seated and talking with others, but I did not feel close enough to just start talking to them. The majority of them were friends of friends, with only one or two that I had actually talked to in the past. In some ways, I feel like it would be easier to go to a place where you either know everyone well or everyone is completely new. In the first scenario, you could easily connect with people or make conversation based on what you know about them. The second scenario may take more work, but with some effort, you can get to know them. However, when you are in a situation where you know their names, you might try to force either aforementioned scenario and fake knowing them or pretending you are a stranger. Even so, I think as you grow up, you will find yourself more in these circumstances, especially when you see people you have not heard from for a long time. In a similar way, as I have been reviewing products with APH Networks for over ten years now, I have seen many similar products and even sometimes the exact same product in a new color. Thankfully, this is not exactly the situation we have today, as we have the DeepCool ASSASSIN 4S. It was not too long ago when I reviewed the ASSASSIN IV. Our product today comes from the same family, except DeepCool has attempted to make this a more minimalist product. What changes will we find with the ASSASSIN 4S? Will we see a familiar set of features? Let us read on to find out!
Today's review unit of the DeepCool ASSASSIN 4S arrived from DeepCool's American offices in Rancho Cucamonga, California. Traveling in a corrugated cardboard box, the DeepCool ASSASSIN 4S was packaged well with some inflated air pockets inside to keep everything safe while in motion. It arrived at our APH Networks offices in Calgary, Alberta in excellent condition. DeepCool also shrink wrapped the product box to reduce any scratches or marks that might be left on the box during shipping.
Taking a look at the retail box of the DeepCool ASSASSIN 4S, it is very similar in appearance to other DeepCool air coolers, including the aforementioned ASSASSIN IV WH. As such, we have the product name printed in block letters, which makes it easy to read. As mentioned in the introduction, we have a tagline, which reads "Minimalistic Premium CPU Air Cooler". Finally, we have a scaled down image of the air cooler. We received the black version, but a white version of the ASSASSIN 4S also exists. Otherwise, around the box, we have some specifications and features. These are all printed on a sleeve that slides over a more standard cardboard box. A DeepCool logo can be found on the box itself.
Before we continue, I have grabbed the specifications from the manufacturer's website for your perusal:

Out of the box, the DeepCool ASSASSIN 4S can be found squished between two black foam segments with cutouts for the heatsink. A separate cardboard box holds all of the accessories for mounting and installing the ASSASSIN 4S. There are separate bags to hold different equipment for the two major CPU makers as well as some shared equipment, like a grippy L-shaped screwdriver and a tube of thermal paste. According to DeepCool, the ASSASSIN 4S can be installed on most of the popular sockets, including Intel's LGA1700/1200/1150/1151/1155/2066/2011-v3/2011 and AMD's AM5/AM4. This covers basically all of the popular processors in the recent past.
