E-WIN 2.0 Edition RGB Gaming Desk Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

The E-WIN 2.0 Edition RGB Gaming Desk promises everything you want and maybe something you did not know you even wanted. Is this the ultimate solution to a special use case? In the same way I was questioning whether it was a good idea to lend my friend a car with almost 300hp to get her home in lieu of driving her because I needed to be somewhere else, we must ask the question whether a $400 gaming desk -- $320 with an always available 20% off coupon code -- is a justified acquisition for your battle station. I have to say the desk itself feels solid and it is constructed out of quality materials. I like the nicely textured carbon fiber table top and strong X-shaped aluminum legs. The RGB LED lighting is cool and having a swing-around cupholder is convenient. The cupholder is also well-designed to hold beverage containers of various sizes. However, there are quite a number of areas where I feel E-WIN can improve this product on. From opening the box, the packaging uses too much Styrofoam, which turned out to be a real mess. The assembly guide is extremely poorly written even though the diagrams and assembly procedure was simple. The RGB LED cable pre-wiring is incorrect out of the box. The LED strips in the table legs are poorly soldered and the wires connecting to the pins are of extremely poor quality, which broke for me out of the box. The advertised 5-degree incline simply does not exist, and neither does the promised headphone hook and controller stand. The cupholder feels too wobbly. In addition, I have a few recommendations for features. These include having adjustable RGB LED brightness, add some sort of cable management, and reduce the excessive amount of branding so the desk does not feel like a massive advertisement. Adding software-based RGB LED synchronization will also be nice. Overall, I find the E-WIN 2.0 Edition RGB Gaming Desk a great concept, but the actual product leaves a lot to be desired -- especially for the price.
