Epomaker HE80 Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

In many ways, the Epomaker HE80 is a well-rounded keyboard, both physically and by its performance. The HE80 is an unassuming and clean input device, with its all-black exterior and slight notions of pizzazz through select purple-tinted keycaps. It has appreciable features like double-shot PBT keycaps, south-facing RGB LED lighting, two-level kickstands, support for Windows and Mac shortcuts, full NKRO support, and hot swap sockets. Internally, there are multiple layers of padding and damping material to make for a pleasant typing experience in both sound and feel. The factory-lubricated stabilizers and switches contribute to this too. The main star of the show are the Epomaker MagneX Hall effect switches that feel crisp and overall good to use daily. The 8000Hz polling rate is also an interesting addition, as is the analog functionality that comes with these switches. I think the HE80 also offers a good set of available keys while keeping a smaller size. The web application of the Epomaker HE80, while not the most attractive utility, is functional. On the other hand, there are still some things that could be improved upon. For one, I would like to see a volume knob. Those looking for wireless functionality will have to look elsewhere, although that is not really a concern to me. Finally, the backlights are not the most vibrant and are more aesthetic than functional. Even so, I do not think these aspects are very detrimental. At the time of the review, the Epomaker HE80 is $70, which is an attractive price for a keyboard of this feature set. Overall, the Epomaker HE80 offers the recent keyboard innovations and advancements in a budget-friendly package.
