As far as synthetics go, 3DMark06 is certainly everyone's favorite -- and we've put our cards through the run as well. Running under our Windows XP platform, the Gigabyte 9800GT 512MB performed very well against the rest -- again, due to the 100MHz core and frequency penalty against the Asus 8800GT TOP (But only 20MHz memory frequency penalty against the Gigabyte 8800GT TurboForce), the Gigabyte 9800GT 512MB scored slightly lower. The performance is still very good and the memory frequency can easily be made up -- since the Samsung chips used on the Gigabyte 9800GT 512MB are designed to run at 1GHz by Samsung anyways.
