About PCMark Vantage

PCMark Vantage is a PC benchmark suite designed for Windows Vista offering one-click simplicity for casual users and detailed, professional grade testing for industry, press and enthusiasts.

A PCMark score is a measure of your computer’s performance across a variety of common tasks such as viewing and editing photos, video, music and other media, gaming, communications, productivity and security. From desktops and laptops to workstations and gaming rigs, by comparing your PCMark Vantage score with other similar systems you can find the hardware and software bottlenecks that stop you getting more from your PC.

I have run into quite a few issues when running PCMark Vantage on our system equipped with the Intel Atom D510 processor on Jetway's NC96FL-510-LF mini-ITX motherboard. I couldn't get the benchmark to complete without crashing on the first test, but the rest of the sections can be taken to completion successfully -- but only in 32-bit mode. Fortunately or unfortunately, I am not the only one with these issues in an Intel Atom setup. The results are shown in our graphs above. A quick validation of some tests in real life scenarios is that the Intel Atom D510 is not capable of handling 1080p videos according to my tests.
