Kingston FURY Renegade DDR5-6000 2x16GB Review (Page 10 of 10)

Page 10 - Overclocking and Conclusion

How did the Kingston FURY Renegade DDR5-6000 2x16GB hold up? With our benchmarking tests complete, we can see the FURY Renegade was quite close to the higher-clocked Patriot Viper Venom RGB DDR5-6200 2x16GB. Despite the Viper Venom RGB having a higher clock frequency, the FURY Renegade was able to produce results that were very close in score to it in all our tests, which shows the 200MHz difference was not a significant handicap. When it comes to overclocking, I was able to take the FURY Renegade from DDR5-6000 to DDR5-6200, Prime95 stable. Loosening the timings did not increase the overclocking potential in this case. There may not be a ton of overclocking potential here with only a 3.33% increase in speed, but DDR5-6000 is already quite fast on its own. I really do not see why you need to overclock something already this fast from the factory other than for showing off on your favorite social media outlet. The FURY Renegade modules have a sleek looking and well-designed set of medium profile heatspreaders with SK hynix chips underneath. While there is no fancy RGB LED lighting to go with this memory kit, it still serves its purpose by delivering on very capable performance. Kingston does offer an RGB LED version though. On top of everything mentioned, you are also backed up by a limited lifetime warranty with this kit. For a retail price of about $270 at press time, the Kingston FURY Renegade DDR5-6000 2x16GB is not made for budget builds, although this is expected for DDR5 memory at this point. Compared to the Patriot Viper Venom RGB DDR5-6200 2x16GB, which can be found for $240, I would say the Kingston can make some adjustments to the price for an otherwise good performing and well-designed DDR5 RAM kit.
