When I saw Kingston's estimates of 90MB/s and 30MB/s for read and write, I was underwhelmed to say the least. While these numbers are respectable on their own, they are quite a bit lower considering this is a HyperX-branded drive. Thus, I did not have high expectations for it at all. Luckily, our first test, the AIDA64 Disk Benchmark proves otherwise. Whether these rated numbers were acquired via a different means, or if these were underestimates to begin with, the numbers speak for themselves; the HyperX Fury is just as much as a performer as we have seen from other Kingston drives. Firstly, the linear speeds max out at 199.7MB/s, and is more than double the estimated speed. This tops out other Kingston drives like the DataTraveler Vault Privacy 3.0 32GB and the DataTraveler Ultimate G2 32GB. This is also the fourth highest drive on the list, which is an impressive way to start. Under the random tests, we see similarly fast numbers at 216.7MB/s. The buffered speed comes in around 153.5MB/s, which is behind the aforementioned Kingston drives, but it is still very much a competitive number. Access time on the other hand comes in a more surprisingly higher time at 0.83ms. However, the practical day-to-day differences will be next to none, so this should not be the cause of concern for potential users.
