Lemur BlueDriver Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

While there are probably hundreds of OBD-II Bluetooth adapters in the market today, not every one of them are created equally. Sure, you can go to popular online retailers and buy the cheapest one from China for a fraction of the cost of the BlueDriver, but keep in mind that the experience you get is not limited to the hardware module itself, but also the software. For about $100 at press time, the Lemur BlueDriver is a reasonably sized hardware module that plugs straight into your car's OBD-II port, and you should have no problems leaving it there permanently if you want. The software is also loaded with features, straightforward to use, and still provides a good user experience. It can do pretty much everything a traditional scanner could do, such as reading engine codes, clearing errors, and running a smog test. Thankfully, we are not just limited to just these. The BlueDriver can generate reports on common fixes, which can be very useful for novice users to mechanics alike. Lemur has also done a great job at making a program that well presents live data from your car. It can not only export CSV data to your PC, but it can also generates cool looking interactive graphs on the spot. How cool is that? In the beginning of the review, I have stated the Lemur BlueDriver allows you to collect and log everything you have been curious about on your iOS or Android based smartphone via an app. Needless to say, it did not disappoint. If they made the module a little smaller, and modernize the graphical user interface of the app, we will have a real winner in our hands. That said, the functionality and usability of the BlueDriver's hardware and software combination is already pretty darn good. At the end of the day, it will not log who and when someone left fingerprint marks on your car window, but for everything else technical, the Lemur BlueDriver has you fully covered.
