Like UL's PCMark 10 benchmarking suite, 3DMark is yet another favorite among enthusiasts and reviewers alike. In fact, it has been part of the APH Networks' battery of standard benchmarks since the very beginning. The latest iteration of 3DMark is available in a series of presets. We included Port Royal, Time Spy Extreme, Fire Strike Ultra, and Night Raid. Port Royal is for real-time ray tracing, Time Spy Extreme tests 4K gaming with DirectX 12, Fire Strike Ultra tests 4K gaming with DirectX 11, and Night Raid is a DirectX 12 test for PCs with integrated graphics. As you can see in our graphs above, the Lexar ARES RGB DDR5-7200 2x16GB remained very close with the Patriot Viper Venom DDR5-7200 2x16GB, Kingston FURY Renegade DDR5-7200 2x16GB, Thermaltake TOUGHRAM XG RGB D5 DDR5-5600 2x16GB, and XPG Lancer RGB DDR5-7200 2x16GB, showing memory bandwidth played a very minor, if not negligible role in these tests. However, unlike PCMark 10, the Lexar ARES RGB actually took first place in all tests, even if it was only by a razor-thin margin.
