About AIDA64 Engineer

AIDA64 Engineer has a hardware detection engine unrivaled in its class. It provides detailed information about installed software and offers diagnostic functions and support for overclocking. As it is monitoring sensors in real time, it can gather accurate voltage, temperature and fan speed readings, while its diagnostic functions help detect and prevent hardware issues. It also offers a couple of benchmarks for measuring the performance of individual hardware components or the whole system. It is compatible with all 32-bit and 64-bit Windows editions, including Windows 10 and Windows Server 2019.

Going in alphabetical order, first up on the list are results from one of our favorite benchmarking programs, AIDA64 Engineer. Just to note, AIDA64 Engineer is a full synthetic benchmark. While it is not a representation of real-life performance -- such as how fast Photoshop opens -- it does provide valuable insight into performance between different drives and different controllers. From our graphs above, the Lexar NQ100 480GB produced mixed results when compared to other SATA SSDs, although not in the way you might think. The NQ100 480GB had the slowest results in the random read benchmark, falling far behind the competition. The tested latency was higher than all the other tested drives at an average of 0.04ms. However, it also scored at the top for buffered and linear read, although these scores were much closer to the other drives. The linear read consistently scored around 530 MB/s, which is not far off from the rated maximum read speed of 550 MB/s.
