Lexar NQ100 480GB Review (Page 7 of 10)

About HD Tune Pro 5.70

HD Tune Pro is a hard disk / SSD utility with many functions. It can be used to measure the drive's performance, scan for errors, check the health status (S.M.A.R.T.), securely erase all data and much more.

Unfortunately, HD Tune does not generate any fancy independent graph outputs, so I just took a screenshot of the program. The Lexar NQ100 480GB throughput remained very flat on average. It differed in magnitude from HD Tach -- probably due to testing algorithms used -- but its performance characteristics were identical in practice. Other than that, the results were acceptable; the recorded access time of 0.039ms is not terrible, but a slower measure than what we would expect from a solid state drive. The NQ100 480GB posted an average sequential read speed of 391.4MB/s, which again, was decent. It surpassed the Crucial BX500 480GB slightly, which measured at 387.8MB/s but fell behind the Patriot P200 512GB, which posted an average speed of 464.0MB/s. Do keep in mind the discussion we had on the previous page, as it still applies here.
