About ATTO Disk Benchmark

The ATTO Disk Benchmark performance measurement tool is compatible with Microsoft Windows. Measure your storage systems performance with various transfer sizes and test lengths for reads and writes. Several options are available to customize your performance measurement including queue depth, overlapped I/O and even a comparison mode with the option to run continuously. Use ATTO Disk Benchmark to test any manufacturers RAID controllers, storage controllers, host adapters, hard drives and SSD drives and notice that ATTO products will consistently provide the highest level of performance to your storage.

Our next set of tests are the usual ATTO read and write tests. ATTO is an often-quoted benchmark because it is easy to use and accurate. For the most part, it is a favorite among reviewers and I have grown to embrace it as much as the next for the last little while. ATTO uses easily compressible data, so compression-heavy controllers will perform very well here.

Our Netac NV7000-Q 1TB reached peak speeds of 5440MB/s write and 6610MB/s read. These numbers were decent, but notably behind the NV7000-t, especially in the write performance. On the other hand, they were also below the quoted 6200MB/s and 7100MB/s write and read speeds, respectively, from the manufacturer. Under the write curve, the NV7000-Q 1TB was strong, ramping in speeds faster than other comparable drives like the Crucial P3 Plus 1TB in packet sizes of 0.5KB to 16KB. It was still behind the curve compared to the NV7000-t. Once it passed this packet size, other drives outperformed this one. As for the read curve, the NV7000-Q was near the top for packet sizes of 32KB and under. In this region, it traded blows with the other Netac drive, while being faster than the Crucial P3 Plus 1TB. In fact, the only drive that was faster at these small packet speeds was the Lexar Professional NM800 PRO 2TB. Above this transfer size, other drives surpassed the NV7000-Q. Overall, the results were good with excellent under-the-curve speeds and average peak performance.
