When I was picking a university degree to study for back in high school, there was one thing that mattered a lot to me. I wanted minimal reading and writing, because the English language arts classes were always a struggle for me, and I did not want anything to do with it. I ended up choosing engineering and specializing in electrical, which allowed me to avoid heavy readings and writing. Fast forward six years, and I am now in an education degree where all we do is read and write. Adding to the irony is I write for this website. I sometimes reminisce about the somewhat peaceful six years I had. Interestingly, the amount of reading I had to do for education has caused me to not dislike it as much anymore. I am currently on winter break, so I have even picked up a few books to read, which I am quite enjoying. These books are meant to be educational, which makes me feel like my brain is expanding as I read them. The same feeling occurred when I was learning about the technologies utilized in the Noctua NF-A12x25 G2 series. These are Noctua's latest all-purpose fans meant to take on both low and high static pressure applications in computer cooling. They are packed with technological features to improve their performance. Are these features just for marketing, or do they actually perform? Read on to find out!

Our review units of the Noctua NF-A12x25 G2 series fans traveled all the way from Vienna, Austria, to our location in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, through UPS Saver shipping. The cardboard packaging may have a few dents and a crack near the top right corner, but the contents were in excellent condition.

In terms of visual design, the singular Noctua NF-A12x25 G2 PWM and the Noctua NF-A12x25 G2 PWM Sx2-PP are identical. Both packages, despite their differences in size, follow the standard Noctua design for their products. On the top right of the packaging, the name is printed with a short description of the product written directly below. In the center left, a picture of the fans is displayed. Moving to the bottom left, Noctua highlights three key features of the fans. Lastly, on the bottom right, the Noctua logo is printed. The sides and bottom of the packaging display more detailed information about the product.

Upon opening the NF-A12x25 G2 PWM Sx2-PP packaging, I was greeted with the two fans symmetrically divided by a box in the center that contains the accessories. The accessories include low noise adapters, a 4-pin PWM splitter cable, 30cm extension cables, anti-vibration mounts, anti-vibration gaskets, and fan screws. Each fan has a paper ring between the fan blades and the frame to prevent the blades from spinning during shipping. Looking above the fans, Noctua has printed information on the box that breaks down components of the fan and their design intentions. The Noctua NF-A12x25 G2 PWM is packaged in a similar way, but contains half the amount of accessories, since it is only one fan instead of two.
