The technological features of the Noctua NF-A12x25 G2 series absolutely delivered in terms of performance. Noctua's custom LCP material, Sterrox, has allowed the fans to achieve an incredible tip clearance of 0.5mm, which helps resist back pressure. The fans are packed full of features that add intentional turbulence to improve the efficiency of the fans. These features include the stepped inlet design, Centrifugal Turbulator Hub, and inner surface microstructures. The blades are carefully designed with a progressive bend to push more air towards the more efficient outer regions, while also maintaining even loading across the blade. The blades have flow acceleration channels and winglets to further increase the overall efficiency. Many of the features also cause a reduction in major turbulence, which improves the noise performance of the fans. Combined with Noctua's SSO2 bearings, the noise level of these fans was excellent when they were tested with both the low noise adapter on and at full power. The airflow produced was strong and consistent. According to the P/Q curve provided by Noctua on their website, the fans also offer great performance under high static pressure applications. The Noctua NF-A12x25 G2 PWM and Noctua NF-A12x25 G2 PWM Sx2-PP are nearly identical in every way, except the Noctua NF-A12x25 G2 PWM Sx2-PP comes with two fans that have offset rotational speeds, which is meant to reduce the production of harmonic noise during push-pull and side-by-side configurations. At press time, the Noctua NF-A12x25 G2 PWM can be bought for $35, while the Noctua NF-A12x25 G2 PWM Sx2-PP can be bought for $105. The fans demand a premium price, but it is backed by the performance it delivers. Overall, the Noctua NF-A12x25 G2 series are exceptional all-purpose cooling fans packed with innovative technology, pushing the limits of what PC air cooling can be.
