Since our SSD review benchmark results are presented in alphabetical order, first up on the list are results from one of our favorite benchmarking programs, AIDA64 Extreme Edition. Since this is the first Indilinx Everest based solid state drive we have ever tested (Again, we got this drive way back when it was released, but it was DOA, so we did not get a replacement in until recently), I was not entirely sure what to expect. Do keep in mind the Octane with this controller is classified as a value oriented drive, and are not intended to compete with flagship SandForce based devices. That said, the OCZ Octane 512GB is actually quite competitive in performance; while it did not deliver any earth shattering results, the numbers are very respectable, as shown in our graphs above. It has also the lowest recorded access time ever to be recorded here at APH Networks at 0.05ms.
