Patriot Viper RGB DDR4-3600 2x16GB Review (Page 10 of 10)

Page 10 - Overclocking and Conclusion

With the Patriot Viper RGB DDR4-3600, you may think that the memory kit is all about the appearances. It is true that Patriot has designed this to fit in a gamer build in appearances, while also providing some mood-lighting for your internal components. The black aluminum heatsink and silver snake head logo also make this kit stand apart from the others. However, this beauty goes beneath the skin, as we also have high frequencies and relatively low latency timings. Inside, we have sixteen chips of quality Samsung chips on each module and a lifetime warranty. In terms of performance, the Patriot Viper DDR4-3600 also performs well, coming inline with other kits. The real impressive part of these quality ICs however is the overclocking headroom. With the latency timings slightly relaxed, we were able to get up to DDR4-3933, which represents a 9.25% increase. In addition, you can also tighten up the CAS latency timings. This overclock was Prime95 stable, as shown in our screenshot above. With a reliable brand, reputable set of B-die Samsung chips, and gaming-focused looks, the Patriot Viper RGB DDR4-3600 2x16GB kit is a good looking and well-performing set of memory all around. At a retail price of $160, this kit is priced competitively when you take into regards the RGB tax. As such, the Patriot Viper RGB DDR4-3600 is a solid kit of memory with a good amount of overclocking headroom to boot.
