Patriot Viper Venom RGB DDR5-6200 2x16GB Review (Page 10 of 10)

Page 10 - Overclocking and Conclusion

How good is the Viper Venom RGB DDR5? There are a few ways to answer this question, so as per APH Networks' RAM review tradition, let me start off with the overclocking results. As you can see in our screenshot above, I was able to take the Patriot Viper Venom RGB 2x16GB from DDR5-6200 to DDR5-6400, Prime95 stable, at stock voltage and latencies. This represented a 200MHz or 3.2% frequency increase compared to the factory specifications. The overclock is basically insignificant, but do keep in mind DDR5-6200 is already the fastest DDR5 specification at press time. Loosening up the timings did not increase overclocking potential, and the voltage was left at 1.35V, since we were already at the maximum safe limit. Other than that, the Patriot Viper Venom RGB DDR5-6200 2x16GB delivered good consistent performance according to our benchmarks. It was not significantly faster than the Kingston FURY Beast DDR5-5200 2x16GB in tests other than synthetic memory benchmarks, but this was to be expected given the way RAM works. On the memory hardware itself, Patriot continues their traditional of unique-looking medium profile heatspreaders that should fit under all modern aftermarket CPU heatsinks with the Viper Venom RGB. The RGB LED lighting synchronizes with the rest of your system from all popular motherboard manufacturers as well. You will also get lifetime warranty should anything go wrong. For about $360 at press time, the Patriot Viper Venom RGB DDR5-6200 2x16GB is competitively priced against kits with similar features and specifications. If you are looking to get some of the fastest DDR5 memory money can buy into your PC with slick RGB LED lighting, this is the kit to buy.
