SOUNDPEATS Cove Pro Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

SOUNDPEATS may not be a powerhouse yet in the audio industry, but the Cove Pro shows signs of how far they have come. In its design, the single-color, all-plastic exterior is adequate, even if it blends in with the competition. Functionally, we have solid physical features like its flexibility and lightweight feel. Combined with plush padding on the ears and the headband, the Cove Pro encourages users to keep wearing them for prolonged periods. In its wireless capabilities, these headphones impress both on the spec sheet and in real life, providing a long 57-hour tested battery life with ANC on and excellent reception over the latest Bluetooth 6.0. The inputs are easy to use and easy to locate without fumbling around. When it comes to audio performance, the Cove Pro brings the bass with a deep and punchy sound. Vocals come cleanly through with solid detail and quality. On the other hand, there are some deficiencies in the audio too. The trebles of the Cove Pro are lacking, and I personally am not a fan of the darker sound signature. Its tighter soundstage, loss of detail in more complicated music, and veiled sound could also be fixed. The active noise cancellation is also average at best, while the microphone on the Cove Pro struggles to capture voices naturally both inside and outside. You could tune the Cove Pro to your preference with its equalizer in the mobile application, but I struggle to recommend it as long as the app requires an unnecessary user registration. At the time of the review, the Cove Pro retails for $70, which is solid value for a comfortable and long-lasting pair of headphones. As such, SOUNDPEATS has everything it needs physically in the Cove Pro and would just benefit from some performance tuning and improvements.
