It has been some time since I last purchased tires for my car, but as I am entering the first winter season with my 2025 Honda Civic Sport Touring Hybrid, I bought a set of tires and rims during the first sale I found. The decision to get Michelin X-Ice Snow tires was an open and shut case, as I had used its predecessor for my previous car. However, I was not sure about the rims. I knew I wanted something other than steel wheels, but I also wanted something that would fit without needing a centering ring or different sets of lug nuts. I could have bought rims from Honda, but these would have been quite a bit more expensive. Instead, I found a set of OEM compatible rims in an all-black finish. The whole installation was a smooth process, but the shop recommended going back to get the wheels torqued again. The next day I returned, and a technician came out for a quick check. As he was talking, he mentioned how he really liked these rims despite not being from Honda, and I had to agree. It was truly a clean set with full compatibility and not needing any additional hardware. There is something to appreciate about first-party or OEM equipment, but if after-market options can work just as well while ensuring the end user can save a bit in cost, the tradeoff may be worth it. In a similar fashion, today we have the Turtle Beach Rematch Wireless Controller, which is a wireless Nintendo Switch gamepad licensed by Nintendo but made by Turtle Beach. It is compatible with both Switch and Switch 2, but how does it compare to the first-party options? Are there any sacrifices that you should be aware of? Let us read on to find out!
Today's review units of the Turtle Beach Rematch Wireless Controller arrived from Turtle Beach's distribution offices in Elwood, Illinois, US. Turtle Beach actually sent us two different variants of the controller, as you will find out, in two separate containers. Traveling with FedEx and their International 2Day service, both boxes arrived in excellent condition at our APH Networks offices here in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The corrugated cardboard box was packed with a bit of packing paper to ensure the product inside arrived in excellent condition. Otherwise, there is not much else included here, so let us carry on in our review.
As this is a licensed Nintendo product, the Turtle Beach Rematch Wireless Controller's retail container looks more like a Nintendo product than a Turtle Beach one. This box has a red and white color scheme, and Nintendo and Nintendo Switch logos are everywhere. The Turtle Beach logo is still here in the bottom right corner, but it is less prominent. The product inside is displayed on the front with primary features of wireless, rechargeable, and motion controls available on the Rematch Wireless Controller. There are several variants of Rematch Wireless, but the two we received are called "Donkey Kong" and "Invincible Mario". The other versions include other iconic Nintendo characters and themes with a total of four assorted flavors.
Before we continue, I have grabbed the specifications from the manufacturer's website for your reading pleasure:

Finally, a small pamphlet of paper has a QR code to link you to documentation about the Rematch Wireless Controller.
