Page 4 - Conclusion
We have seen on multiple occasions where a third-party alternative can be just as good or even better than the official option, so how does the Turtle Beach Rematch Wireless Controller for Nintendo Switch stack up? On one hand, this gamepad is not trying to imitate anything else. Even with a similar layout, the Rematch Wireless stands out with bright and colorful designs. There are physical differences, including deeper grips on the analog sticks, a stiffer set of primary buttons, and a swapped set of +/- and Home/Capture buttons at the top. There is also one appreciable addition in the form of two bottom buttons that can be reassigned to any other button. In performance, the wireless capabilities are just as good as the original, reaching its claimed 40-hour battery life with ease. The wireless range is also excellent and should work for any living room environment. While gaming, the Turtle Beach Rematch Wireless works as you might expect, including its motion controls. On the other hand, to keep the Rematch Wireless at a competitive price point, there have been some omissions. For one, we do not have any vibration or rumble. Furthermore, there is no GameChat C-button shortcut, although this is only useful for Switch 2. Other areas I would like to see improved is by using Hall effect sensors in the analog sticks and a lighter button response on the primary buttons. Even so, the Turtle Beach Rematch Wireless Controller is a very functional and usable input device. At the time of the review, it costs $60, which is quite a bit less than official Nintendo gamepads. As such, if you are looking for an economical option while adding more friends to play your latest Nintendo consoles, the Rematch Wireless Controller will do in a pinch.
