Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2 Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

While the underdogs are making their run in the quest to the Lord Stanley, it would be unfair to think the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2 as underdogs in any way. For one, Turtle Beach has a pretty solid track record in the gaming headset world, and their experience is shown off with their updated Stealth 600. From the beginning, we have a pretty solid gaming headset, even with the plastic build. You might think you want a more rigid material here, but the benefit of the plastic build is a lighter overall headset. I found the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2 to be quite comfortable to wear, as the fabric earcups are more breathable. Adequate amounts of cushioning on the ears and the headband as well as the different foam density used near the glasses also contribute to this. It also has neat features, like the flip-to-mute microphone and USB Type-C charging port. Its wireless capabilities are excellent both in range and longevity, as I was able to extend beyond the quoted fifteen hours on a single charge. In terms of audio quality, the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2 sounded as I would have expected in this price range. It provided a decent sound signature with a good emphasis in the trebles. However, there was a lacking sub-bass to provide the oomph some users may desire. There was a bit of dryness heard in the middle to upper frequency regions. Layering of the ranges could have been improved upon, as some detail was lost with more complicated music, though it was less of an issue in games. Otherwise, I think the only other place I would have liked to see a bit more refinement is with the microphone, which sounded a bit hollow and slightly unnatural. It is still very usable for voice communications like game chat, but it could still be improved. At launch, the Stealth 600 Gen 2 has a launch price at $100 USD, which again is a competitive region to be in. Overall, the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2 is a good performing headset, and excels in comfort and wireless use.
