Page 4 - Conclusion
At this point, I have come to accept the fact the V-MODA Crossfade Wireless is not tuned for technically perfection like the XS. I get it. The bass is more forward sounding with a slightly relaxed midrange and treble. The frequency response is not completely flat. But who cares? The Crossfade Wireless is a lot of fun to listen to, and these are by far my favorite headphones I have on hand right now. If I was a teenage girl, I would say these are my favoritest headphones in the world. I have never thought of having a cable between my phone and my headset as a nuisance, but going without it while taking public transit is quite an experience. The sheer convenience of going wireless is simply irresistible. The Crossfade Wireless are extremely well-built over the ear headphones that are not only supremely convenient, comfortable, and fashionable to use anytime and anywhere, but also comes at a nominal price increase of only $30 compared to its wired equivalent, the Crossfade M-100. Sure, it is not foldable, but that is about all you will lose out on -- hardly a deal breaker. As it always goes, unplugging your Crossfade M-100 will not turn it into a Crossfade Wireless, but plugging in your Crossfade Wireless will sure make it a Crossfade M-100. Battery life is reasonable, and its wireless range and consistency is excellent. These headphones do suffer from some issues though. Firstly, there is some hissing noise in the background. While you probably will not be able to hear it on public transit, you can definitely pick it up in a quiet room. It is important to note this issue is common to a lot of Bluetooth headsets. Secondly, it sounded a little rougher and harsher over wireless (Compared to my test bench anyway), so I think better internal electronics like a beefier DAC may be the key. Either way, it is hard to argue against the V-MODA Crossfade Wireless. For about $300 at press time, with unique customization options available, the Crossfade Wireless is truly a winner of a winner.
